Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot: Call for Applications
Final call!
The School of law is looking forward to presenting a new team of students that will represent the University in this year's edition of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot - or, as referred to informally, the Vis Moot. We encourage all of those interested to apply.
The Vis Moot is the most important and prestigious mooting tournament in the world, as every year hundreds of law schools compete against each other through written and oral advocacy skills. You can read more about it here. The competition hinges around a fictional case in the field of international commercial arbitration, where you will be asked to represent both sides.
It remains uncertain whether the VIS Moot will take place online this year or resume its traditional in-person format where the team would travel to Vienna for the final oral rounds and also other countries for practice 'pre-moots'. We believe nevertheless that participating in the Vis Moot remains a unique experience, one that you are not likely to forget, and which will allow you an opportunity to step into the shoes of real-life international litigators (see here for some testimonials). If this is something that appeals to you, do definitely apply.
Application Process
The application process is simple. All those interested, please send your CV and a few lines about why you wish to participate to Dr Livashnee Naidoo (livashnee.naidoo@glasgow.ac.uk) who will be coaching the team along with Dr Toni Marzal. All applications must be received by 16.00 on Wednesday, 22nd September 2021. Interviews will be conducted on Monday, 27th September.
